December 2, 2011 — Pacific Gas & Electric crews are working in the central coast of Northern California to restore power after high winds caused some 500 different outages in the utility's service territory.
About 25,000 people in the Fresno area are without power as of late December 1. PG&E said customers should be cautious of live power lines that might be knocked down from strong gusts of wind as high as 70 mph.
Another 1,000 homes were without power in the South Bay; 370 on the Peninsular; 170 in the North Bay and 360 in the East Bay. There were no outages reported in San Francisco.
