Anbaric could help TenneT with German offshore link plan

Anbaric plant to act as an intermediary for prospective U.S. and European investers to finance up to four offshore network link projects of Dutch state-owned grid operator TenneT

October 22, 2012 — Investors including transmission developer Anbaric Transmission are talking about investing as much as $5.2 billion in a cabling project that would link wind farms off the coast of Germany to mainland Europe.

Anbaric plant to act as an intermediary for prospective U.S. and European investers to finance up to four offshore network link projects of Dutch state-owned grid operator TenneT.

In 2009, TenneT bought Germany's biggest power grid. It is used mainly by E.On. Anbaric earlier this month denied it was planning to bid for TenneT's German unit.

Germany aims to boost renewables to 35 percent of its power output by 2020, with over 10,000 MW of offshore capacity installed by then.
