Vehicle maintenance: VCMS II, the second-generation line of vehicle control and power modules from InPower, provides maximum control, flexibility and value whether part of a networked system or as stand-alone units. These modules can be configured to operate a wide range of auxiliary vehicle equipment including fans, compressors, lighting, pumps, heaters, lifts, beacons, motors and power takeoffs.
VCMS II components are compact, which is ideal in typical space-limited conditions. Because they are modular and easily expandable, they are more flexible and cost-effective than hard-wired relay systems or cumbersome multiplex systems.
VCMS II control and power modules feature InPower¹s proprietary two-wire communications data bus, which enables modules to be easily interconnected to create configurable, networked systems. They are also weatherproof and housed in environmentally sealed plastic cases featuring Molex MX150 sealed waterproof connectors.
“Our VCMS II products stand up to demanding operating conditions,” said John Melvin, InPower’s Vice President of Engineering. “They also make it easy to configure a networked system that can evolve or grow as needs change.”
Available VCMS II products include switch modules, power modules, a DC reversing motor control module, an operator display module, a memory module and a programming module.
VCMS II switch modules have customizable legends so drivers can easily operate vehicle equipment.
VCMS II power modules feature DC power outputs with overcurrent and short-circuit fault shutdown protection. They can monitor battery voltage and shed loads when a low charge condition exists. Multiple loads are shed on a priority basis.
A VCMS II radio frequency (RF) transmitter fob and RF receiver module may be combined to configure a stand-alone wireless control system or integrate wireless control into a larger system. The RF transmitter fob has a range of up to 1,000 feet.
