More utility fleets are turning to the fleetHQ program to help them with roadside assistance for tire-related issues. Since June 2010, OG&E has been using Goodyear’s roadside emergency tire service through fleetHQ, which provides a variety of business solutions. Just one call to the fleetHQ Solutions Center handles the company’s tire-related issues quickly and efficiently, said Herb Kramer, supervisor of fleet and maintenance operations, at OG&E, formerly known as Oklahoma Gas & Electric.
“fleetHQ allows us to track tire service times to ensure we minimize wait time,” he added. “It also provides us reports we can analyze and use to support our decision-making.”
TVTrack, a powerful online management tool available with fleetHQ, helps fleets monitor their tires’ condition and performance, and reduces fleets’ operating costs. TVTrack also provides unit information, scrap analysis, wear conditions and more, all at the click of a mouse.
When they need assistance, utility crews can call a toll-free number that connects them to trained tire professionals at the program’s Fort Smith-based Solution Center. These tire professionals then dispatch the nearest participating servicing dealers to disabled vehicles’ locations. Utilities have the option of using TirePix, fleetHQ’s solution that offers photos of tires replaced during a road service call.
fleetHQ also offers a smartphone mobile Web application that puts a utility crew in touch with the program’s tire professionals. The application is available for iPhone, Android and Blackberry platforms.
