Stellar Industries, Inc. is introducing the addition of the EC4000 and EC5000 cranes. These new environmentally friendly models will effectively round out and complete the full line of the Stellar® EC Series.
The EC4000 is a 4000-pound capacity crane with hydraulic and manual boom reach options of either 16 or 20 feet. Rated at 16,000 ft-lbs, the EC4000 features a short stowed length (9'3") and a low profile design (28.53"), both of which allow the crane to tuck nicely behind the profile on most chassis cabs.
The EC5000 is a 5000-pound capacity crane with a hydraulic and manual boom reach of 20-feet. This 25,000 ft-lb rated version also features a low profile design (29.53") and short stowed length (11'3"). Much like the EC4000, the EC5000 will fit comfortably behind most chassis cab profiles.
Both the EC4000 and EC5000 cranes feature a "Piggy-Back" or Double Boom design, providing considerably more strength than traditional square boom designs. These new cranes also boast a true gear bearing rotation (full 410 degrees) that uses a high-strength steel ball bearing turntable gear, a high-strength steel worm gear, and a cast-steel worm gear housing.
Both cranes also come equipped with state-of-the-art radio remote controls and utilize environmentally friendly hydraulic oil that is non-toxic, non-carcinogenic and that is recyclable and biodegradable. Both are industry first features for this class of crane.
Other features worth noting include specifically designed and manufactured hydraulic cylinders for each particular model, allowing the crane to effectively and efficiently lift what it is designed to lift. The planetary winch system is equipped with a 1.8 HP permanent magnet electric motor with a 315:1 planetary gear reduction system. This ensures that the winch will never quit lifting before it reaches the full rated capacity
"The completion of these two crane models puts Stellar Industries in a very competitive position," says Tim Davison, Product Manager, bodies and cranes. "Many of our customers needed an affordable crane option that could withstand the call of duty for moderate lifting applications." Davison adds, "And in true Stellar fashion, we've listened to our customers and provided a product that meets market expectation and exceeds competitive offerings."
