Eaton Signs Major Transmission Agreement With India's Tata Motors

Diversified industrial manufacturer Eaton Corporation today announced that it has signed a business agreement through 2014 with Tata Motors, India's largest automotive manufacturer. Terms were not disclosed.

Eaton's Truck Group will supply heavy duty synchronized transmissions to Tata Motors for use on its World Truck program in India as well as global markets. Initial transmission production will take place at Eaton plants in Tczew, Poland, and Wuxi, China, with production moving to its new facility in Pune, India, as volumes increase.

Johnson Controls, Inc. and the Town and Schools of East Hartford, Conn. announce that the 18-month installation of energy efficiency measures is complete. The project to upgrade nine school buildings and nine town buildings to make them more efficient was completed at the end of 2008. This self-funding initiative, implemented by Johnson Controls, Inc., is expected to save the town more than $500,000 annually over the next 12 years. Additionally, the Town of East Hartford is set to receive some $700,000 dollars in incentives from Connecticut Light & Power as part of the energy project.
