Rotate traffic signal mast arm and pole without bucket truck

Pelco Products’ Pivot Base easily rotates mast arm and pole assemblies.

Edmond, Okla., December 27, 2010—Pelco Products Inc., a company that designs and manufactures traffic solutions, reminds the industry of their Pivot Base Assembly for rotating entire traffic signal mast arm and pole assemblies at the pole’s base, without needing a bucket truck. The typical application allows an existing or new traffic signal mast arm assembly that extends over the traffic to be easily rotated by hand after removing the four security bolts.

A rotating traffic signal assembly allows an oversize load to easily and conveniently pass through an intersection where alternate routes are not possible or practical. Another problem solved with this innovative product is when traffic monitors and sensors are mounted above continuous traffic that moves at a high rate of speed and the need of service arises.

Located at the head of navigation for the McClellan-Kerr Arkansas River Navigation System in northeast Oklahoma, the Tulsa Port of Catoosa required a solution for moving large oversized loads through a typical four-way intersection on their way to being loaded on barges at the river port. Pelco Products answered the call and now these loads move with ease toward their destination thanks to the installation of the Pivot Base.

In little time, the Pivot Base standing only 12 1/2 inches tall, can be retrofitted to an existing installation by inserting the Pivot Base between the existing foundation and the mast arm assembly saving your company and the community valuable time when service or transportation requirements emerge.
