Heavy truck stereos are highly durable
ASA introduces two new highly-durable stereos built to meet the needs of the heavy truck industry.
Elkhart, Ind., April 26, 2010—ASA offers the commercial and heavy truck industry the all new JENSEN JHD1620B (AM/FM/Weatherband) and the JENSEN JHD3620B AM/FM/CD/Weatherband heavy duty stereos.
These two new stereos are the next generation to an established line of JENSEN heavy duty stereos. Many important features remain the same, such as the robust electrical and mechanical design, the AM/FM tuner with RBDS and the NOAA Weatherband with Weather Alert capability. As with all JENSEN heavy duty electronics, the new JHD1620B and JHD3620B also boast conformal coated circuit boards that protect the system against temperature fluctuations, condensation and humidity—all of which are commonly encountered in heavy duty applications. They also have added circuit protection to defend against voltage spikes and irregularities.
Both the JHD1620B and JHD3620B are also SIRIUS Gen 3.0 Satellite Radio Ready. This means that the stereos can transmit and control SIRIUS Radio (when a subscription is obtained) without having to use a separate SIRIUS headunit. Coming soon will be iPod ready versions which will allow the stereo full control when an iPod is plugged into an iPod specific connector on the rear of the stereo chassis. The stereos also offer both front and rear auxiliary inputs to allow for alternative audio sources.
New features of the JENSEN JHD1620B and JHD3620B stereos include the full-dot matrix high-visibility display with white back-light for easy and clear viewing and S.A.M.E technology which allows the weather alert to focus in on a more specific region, thus giving the user more accurate weather updates.
The main differences between these two stereo models is that the JENSEN JHD3620B has a CD player and has a front panel USB connection for those who prefer to listen to music through a device such as a jump drive.
Both stereos are two wire systems and have non-volatile memory, which means the clock, station presets and audio settings are saved even when a vehicle's battery is disconnected. OEM direct “plug-n-play” harness pin-outs will also be available.
